About Michelle
I have been sewing and crocheting since I was a little girl. I started by making clothes for myself - and when I had children, I made clothes for them too.
In 1980-something, I made my first quilt. I have been hooked quilting ever since! I tried tying my first quilts and then I tried machine quilting with my Kenmore sewing machine. I learned from those experiences that finishing the tops were quite challenging. The tied quilts were functional, but not very attractive. The sewing machine caused me more frustration than I would have preferred.
In December 1999, I purchased my first longarm machine. I took several classes and learned several techniques to help me provide quality quilting. I started longarm quilting for family and friends and started accepting customer quilts in late 2000. I really enjoy seeing the various quilts "develop a personality" as they become complete. I especially love seeing the faces and hearing the excitement from my friends, relatives and clients when they see their "special quilt" completed.
I take special care that the back of a quilt looks equally as wonderful as the front. I often get comments from my customers that they use the back of their quilts as whole cloth quilts when they want to change the look of their rooms. The texture my quilting adds to the colors truly creates a feast for yout eyes.
